The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Thomas Fairchild can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Edith Fairchild Edwards
Condolence: Thomas was my Father's first cousin. My Dad John Milton Fairchild was born in 1912. When I was about eight years old Daddy took us to visit his cousins in Madison Co NC. That was 1952, and they had a tobacco farm both were unmarried at that time. We stayed the whole day I have never forgotten how very kind and generous these two brothers were to us, making us welcome as if we were always a part of their family.

Condolence: Cousin Tom was my second cousin on my mothers side of the Riddle family. I remember Tom from the times we visited his mother, my Aunt Mandy. Tom was blind but worked in the tobacco fields with his older brother Jack. My family always loved to visit Tom's family, us kids loved to see what aunt Mandy had on the dinner table, she always told us to get us something to eat. We loved her sweet bread. Mom and I visited Tom several years ago and that was the last time I got to visit with him. Tom is in a better place today, he is walking those streets of gold. RIP cousin Tom.

Condolence: Tom was my second cousin on my mother's side of the family. His mother, Aunt Mandy, as we called her was the sweetest lady and always welcomed us into her home that Tom and Jack built for her. Tom was always a talker and loved to have company drop by for a visit. Us kids loved sitting and listening to his stories. He and Tom were farmers and they worked hard all of their lives. I am so happy Tom had a long good life without any major illness. I am so sad to know he is no longer with us. I will always remember him as a kind and loving relative who was liked by all who knew him.

Rest in Peace Tom, I'll see you again one day down the road.
